Each month, the members of the USS Sulu will select the
simmer that they feel deserves the honor of being called the Simmer of the
Month The Simmer of the Month will exhibit many, if not all, of the
following qualities in his or her writing:
- Attention to detail
- Strong character development
- Excellent storytelling skills
- Strong interaction with both PCs and NPCs
- Meeting and exceeding the sim participation requirements
 February 2004 |
For February, the simmers chose Dallas as their Simmer of the Month is once again, though this time he was the sole winner (which I'm sure he's ecstatic about; he hates ties :-). Dallas is always ready with storylines and plot suggestions, and endearing raving about canon facts which, in the end, makes him a simmer much deserving of this award. Congrats, Dallas!

 January 2004 |
January's Simmer of the Month is once again Loren, a simmer who always contributes so much to every mission and creates some of the zaniest NPCs in the sim. For his contributions and enthusiasm, he's more than earned this award once again. |
 December 2003 |
December's Simmer of the Month is a new addition to the sim, Kerry, who quickly became one of the more frequent posters seemingly the day she arrived. Her character and herself easily fit in to the sim, and her posts are always entertaining, so she's certainly deserving of this award. |
 November 2003 |
November's Simmer of the Month is once again Brendan, whose writing throughout the mission has been consistently entertaining, and has helped keep the mission's momentum going. His character, the brazen Dr. Sefton, singlehandedly solved the virus crisis (mostly :-), and kept that subplot of the mission from falling into confusion. Other than that, he's just an exemplary simmer and definitely earned this month's Simmer of the Month award. |
 October 2003 |
For October's Simmer of the Month, the players chose Christine as their top pick. With her list of eccentric characters, ranging from a Cait to a brash, strong-willed woman, Christine manages to keep everyone entertained. Along with her enthusiasm, Christine remains a pleasant addition to the sim. Congrats to Christine, October's Simmer of the Month. |
 September 2003 |
In our September Simmer of the Month vote, Simon came out on top. When Simon joined the Sulu, he came on strong with Saavar and Natalia. When we found ourselves with an opening in the chief of security position, Simon stepped right in with Benedict T'Kal, a character with a long, complex history. Big contratulations to Simon, September's Simmer of the Month. |
 August 2003 |
For August, the Sulu's own Susan Lucci was voted the Simmer of the Month. Congratulations go out to Loren. When Loren joined up, he really hit the ground running, and the only time he's slowed down is when we've had to ask him to let the rest of the sim catch up. ;-) While Mason Farrell may not be a model Starfleet officer, he has shown amazing depth and humanity between his various swindles and cons. Love him or hate him, Loren and Mason are valuable members of the sim and crew. Again, hearty congratulations. |
 July 2003 |
July 2003's winner has found herself in one of the more popular side stories on the Sulu. Counselor Ainsley Chambers must deal not only with the troubles of the rest of the crew, but also her own stormy relationship. Janet does a very fine job of juggling those stories and a myriad others, as well as seeming to be a recruiting machine for the Sulu (of all the players on the Sulu, Janet can easily claim the most referrals). |
 June 2003 |
For June 2003, we ended up with a tie for the Simmer of the Month. Rather than having a tie-breaking vote, we decided to honour both as the winners of the Simmer of the Month award. Therefore, Dallas and Brendan are this month's recipients which they will be able to proudly display on their Player Bio (soon to be released). Dallas' contributions to our most recent mission (Most Foul) and the continuing saga of Storm's fall from grace are definitely worthy of this award. Brendan's Mark Thaine is a character that everyone loves to hate...and love. His portrayal of the crotchety engineer with a heart as big as a Sovereign-class starship makes for continued fun reading. Three cheers for both winners and all those who were nominated. |

 May 2003 |
In May 2003, Brendan was elected the Sulu's Simmer of the Month. Writing for such wonderful characters as Cristobel Sefton and Viraj, Brendan was an easy choice for candidates. Always willing to jump in for a joint post, even to write a one-time NPC, Brendan definitely deserves the honour of being the Sulu's May 2003 Simmer of the Month. |
