SOMETHING WICKED - Mission Briefing
MISSION TIMELINE
Something Wicked Mission Update
| 02.28.04 |
What the crew knows for sure:
- The Sulu is headed toward some sort of gateway that will allow the ship
to travel from this universe into their own.
- The Sulu will be participating in some sort of invasion. They are
essentially conscripts into the Empire's stellar navy.
- There is a plan in the works to release gas into the ship once we arrive
at the location of the Gate. The Enforcers will be all knocked unconscious.
- Shortly before arrival, a resurgence of one of the viruses the crew has
encountered since coming to the Gamma Quadrant is going to be "found" and
the crew will need to be inoculated. The Enforcers will receive a shot,
but it's only a placebo.
- An away team is being planned to get onto the station at the Gate that
will allow the Sulu to get back home; the gate will be destroyed in the
process, stopping any of the invasion fleet from following through.
- Captain Salinger is a prisoner on the Windsor.
What the crew may or may not know (author's choice):
- Tebrianne Bancroft is on the Sulu's side and is working to help get
everyone home.
- Benedict T'Kal has left Lyrr Tayla and is now with Tebrianne, a previous
lover.
- Shyla Moreau has been killed, brutally beaten by one of the Enforcers.

Four Days of travel time to the Gate.
The Windsor and the Sulu will be travelling through high warp for four days
to reach the destination of the Gate System.
This system is a Black Hole with a Gateway being powered by the
gravitational forces of the Black Hole’s singularity threshold, with a
DS9-style station (Ashak Nor, a Bajoran station constructed out here, and
then taken over by the Terran Empire) orbiting close to the Gate
itself. The DS9 station provides power to the force generators maintaining
distance from the Black Hole. (NOTE: In the *real* universe, it would be a
Cardassian-built station)
The plan so far is that the Sulu plays along with the Captain of the
Windsor in order to reach the Gate our ONLY way home.
Once there we must find a way to destroy the Gate as we use it to go home,
and in such a manner as to prevent the Armada gathering in the Gate System
from going through to invade the Gamma Quadrant on the other side.
At present there are 30 Enforcers on the Sulu. These people are spread
thinly, as they do have to sleep.. they have been assigned the vacant VIP
suites and have set up their base of operations in the Security offices.
All Security officers of the Sulu have been reassigned to other duties.. in
Engineering, Operations or Medical depending on skills.
All Security Clearances have been revoked noone can use the computer to
lock anyone out or do things without their knowledge.
Intership communications are being monitored from the Security Office.
Replicators are off line except in the Mess Hall or the VIP quarters of the
Enforcers.
Any sabotage will be considered defiance and will be punishable by extreme
measures.
The Enforcers use painsticks, Agonizers and Agonizer collars on crew. They
have enough collars for at least 50 crew, so consider that at least 35 have
already been handed out.
Basically if you seek to avoid an Enforcer it is easily done but then so
are encounters with them.
Crew are not allowed to gather the computer has been programmed to alert
the Enforcers if too many commbadges congregate outside of the Mess Hall.
Also crew removing commbadges for any reason will be collared and punished.
Word is passed down through the manner of word of mouth to cooperate with
the Enforcers until a plan is formulated to retake the ship. Until then all
means should be taken to gather intelligence on the Enforcers, how they
operate, where the spend time.. etc..
Posts can be anything normal during these four days, as if we are
travelling from A to B without any real incidents occurring. Life CAN be
normal. The crew have their own quarters, they are NOT restricted to a
Cargo Bay. All holodecks are off. This includes the EMH systems.
The TAC Team is keeping a low profile and mostly will remain in the
Jeffries Tube networks under sensor screening. They can come out to get
food, and for a brief time are replaced by other crew so JP’s with TAC
Team members can be done in that way someone might like to swap positions
with them while they go out..?
The TAC Team should formulate a plan for the crew to disable and overcome
the 30 Enforcers when the time is right. Weapons are limited to what they
removed from the Armoury as personal equipment.. so perhaps a planned
attack on the Armoury might get more weapons for the crew..

As you can see, we've got some visitors!
There are going to be a total of thirty security troops from the ISS
Windsor on the Sulu. Weapons on the Sulu will be confiscated. No
running around with hidden phasers and such. If such weapons are
found, the recipient will receive a quick painstick, have their
weapons stripped, and have to spend a little bit of time locked up.
Per recent events, there are no personal weapons still in
circulation. All the armouries have been locked down and are under
heavy guard. The Windsor forces are wearing the equivalent of heavy
riot gear.
Crew will be rounded up and taken to Cargo Bay 1, where they will be
processed. Basically, that means verified against the ship's
manifest, and searched for hidden weapons, and once they are cleared,
returned to their regular duty stations.
Much effort is going to be placed initially on repairs, to get the
ship ready to be moved again. In the end though, life aboard the
Sulu will continue as normal...with a couple exceptions. There will
be the aforementioned security crew (30 Enforcers from the Windsor, a
group of highly trained security officers trained for this sort of
engagement).
None of the Enforcers are to be killed, or seriously injured. They
know what they're doing, very distrustful, and definitely not stupid.
Anyone who attacks one will be given a taste of Mirror Universe
justice. It will be very painful.
If one of them is attacked, the one attacked will deal with the
assailant, and the others in the area will draw weapons and pacify
the crowd if necessary. If anyone has any doubts on how any of the
Enforcers should be played, send me an email.
Holodecks will be offline. External Communication will be offline.
And, places like the lounge, amphitheatre, and such will be open, but
watched.
We'll have another update post coming out soon, that will begin
moving the story into the next phase: hatching a plan to get the Sulu
back home.
As far as meeting mirror duplicates of our own characters goes,
overall we'd like to avoid doing that now. In the instance of small,
cameo type appearances we are open to consideration, but you will
need to come forward to us and propose your idea privately. In
general, though, we wish to avoid it.
Stay tuned!!

So, the action of the post ends around 14h06 on 57910.17. You can take things up to 14h26, but no further yet.
There should be plenty to do during the twenty minutes, however.
- Sensors need to be brought back online.
- Tactical systems need to be brought back online.
- Spotters should be positioned around the ship to watch for Seeblin or other vessels.
- Engineers should be watching the warp core to make sure there isn't any trouble.
- All crew who aren't on damage control teams should be manning their posts.
Holodecks are offline. The lounges should also be offline (or not serving). Essentially, since we are in a crisis situation, everyone should be devoting all of their attention to the crisis.
As noted, the Sulu should pretty much take no damage other than a few shots to her shields. Morale should be high and the crew is functioning like a well-oiled machine. The whole fight only lasts for about eight minutes, but then we have twenty minutes of waiting for the other shoe to fall.

Okay! It's time to get the action going!
As you can see, the Sulu is wading into the fight to assist a Dominion ship
that's being attacked by a group of Seeblin. The Seeblin aren't much of a
threat to the Sulu since the Sulu was ready for them, unlike the Dominion
ship. There should be little damage or danger for the Sulu, so in your
reaction posts to this, please don't include any hull breaches or the like.
The Sulu's on top of the fight, and should make it through with few bumps
and bruises. They're just coming to the assistance of a damaged and ailing
ship that's sent out a call for help.
Please, in your posts, don't take the action past this initial part. We'll
have another post coming out in a day or so with the battle, but we wanted
to get things rolling now. The Sulu enters the fight at 13h53 on stardate
47910.17, so take your posts up to that point. The Sulu is coming to the
aid of a former enemy, the protostar's about to be born, and the lounge just
ran out of spinach dip. Okay, the spinach dip part isn't accurate, but you
get the idea.
Since a red alert has been called, all crew should be moving to their
assigned stations during such an incident. There isn't much to do yet, but
will definitely be in the next post. If you'd like to take the opportunity,
this could be a great chance to show crew getting into their battle stations
and getting ready for the crisis.
The action should be positive and upbeat because morale's been seriously
boosted. The ship is in good repair and spirits should be high. If you
have any questions, let us know. We'll have another post to take us deeper
into the battle coming out within the next couple days, so if you want to
get your reactions to this part in, now's the time. |
