Doctor Jacobs is devoted to the craft of healing.  She has served on the Sulu since its launch, but has yet to make a single friend. Instead, Allison spends what little social time she allows herself on communicating with her family back home on Terra's Lunar Colony.  Every other available moment, she spends studying to be a better doctor through the science of modern medicine or through alternative healing practices. She offers a curt bedside manner in sickbay, but she gets a body healed.
