Background A native of Joensuu, Finland, Cecily was born on July 17th, 2355. Cecily's birth mother died shortly after upon giving birth to her daughter; supposedly it was also believed that her father had long since been dead. As a result Cecily was orphaned and put up for adoption. She was soon to be adopted by two very loving parents; Johannes Torsten and Jeremias Torsten. Jeremias Torsten was a well-known and well sought after Lawyer and Law Advisor and Johannes a teacher of Science and Astronomy at the local area schools; she also was known to do quite an amount of substitution teaching or visiting to Starfleet Academy when and if needed.

Cecily was spoiled rotten by her parents who wanted nothing more than for the young girl to grow up forgetting about her hard born life and to be happy. Spoiled she was, but if anything she learned not to become a brat as a result of it. Her parents had hopes for Cecily to enroll in the Sciences or perhaps Law hoping that she too would make it big like they did and so Cecily was enrolled into learning about a large number of subjects in these areas including theatre, music, and dance.

Try as she might however, Cecily couldn't find her foothold in Science like her mother, trying to instead lean more towards Law like her father. Cecily found she had a better understanding of the subject in and of itself, but she saw that her organization skills were probably that much better suited in another area. Retiring to her room that night to give the idea some much needed thought, Cecily played her violin as she looked towards the stars trying to think of a way she could please both her parents yet still manage to make it on her own okay. Johannes, having, taught at Starfleet Academy in San Francisco told Cecily of a program where she could possibly be able to obtain both a career in Science, yet also put her skills to good usage. Years later Cecily finds herself at her first posting, the Hikaru Sulu.
Personality Profile Happy-Go-Lucky, nervous, and somewhat timid, Cecily is quite an unusual enigma. She gets along well with other crewmembers but she often feels intimidated by others taller than herself and she has a habit of tending to stutter from time-to-time when she is anxious or wrings her hands. Cecily very much enjoys having friends and to those that know her she is said to be a sweet, kind person. On her off time when she gets the chance, Cecily indulges in her hobbies of music where she can find escapism of sorts from the chaos around her.
Physical Description Cecily has a small, slim figure like that of a dancer; despite her being at the height of 5'4" to others she comes across as small, almost pixie like in her appearance. She has freckled skin, her hair is shortly cut, its color a light blonde highlighted here and there with light shades of red. Her eyes are blue.
