Background

In 2350, a team of Vulcan scientists colonized a small planet near the Romulan Neutral Zone. The planet, Vurkael III, was idea for the work they intended for the world. As soon as the colony had been established, the scientists began studying the stars around the Neutral Zone and conducting a variety of experiments.

In 2352, a Romulan Warbird established an orbit around Vurkael III. After several hours of observing the colony, a team of ten Romulans beamed to the surface. The Sub-Commander of the Warbird held many grudges against Vulcans, and allowed his hatred to cloud whatever judgement remained. With the Vulcans so close to Romulan space, he felt the actions justified and accompanied a team to the surface to convince the Vulcans that Vurkael III was not a welcome home to their 'cousins.'

The Romulans ransacked the colony and raped the women. Feeling that their message had been well-received, the Romulans left with the warning that they would return to check in on the Vulcan encroachers. As the colony began to rebuild itself, one of the women, T'Lan, found herself with child. She had been raped by the Romulan Sub-Commander and now carried his unborn child inside of her. A woman of very strong beliefs, T'Lan felt an obligation to have the child. Just under a year later, on November 28, 2353, T'Briane was born.

In 2354, the Romulans returned to Vukael III. Beaming down to the surface to check on the colony, they proceeded to rape an pillage the colony as their predecessors had done. T'Lan was battered pretty bad by the Romulan that raped her. T'Briane lay on the ground at her mother's side as the Romulan defiled T'Lan. With a sneer that held nothing but contempt and disdain, the Romulan raised his disruptor to finish off the crying woman and her brat. Before he could strike, he was vaporized by the Starfleet Marine who had approached from behind, masked by the noise of T'Lan and T'Briane's cries.

The Vulcan colonists were escorted aboard the ship that had shown up in time to rescue them, the USS Triumphant. It was a Starfleet vessel that had been in the area when it picked up a distress call from the colony. Captain Michael Bancroft ordered the ship to alert and came in with guns blazing to save the day. On the voyage back to Vulcan, T'Lan died. Her injuries were too great for even Federation Medical to repair. Because of her dual-heritage, the other Vulcans regarded T'Briane with a contemptuous eye--as much as a Vulcan could show contempt. Captain Bancroft decided to take the child back to Earth for his parents to raise. George and Victoria Bancroft were excited and thrilled to raise the girl as their own.

Tebrianne, the Terran equivalent of her Vulcan name, grew up in London. She was very bright, easily excelling in school. Teb took an early interest in flying and Starfleet after sitting through many of her older brother's stories. She also exhibited very strong talents in the arts--specifically music. She began taking vocal lessons at the age of eight. She had mastered the guitar by the age of ten and the piano by eleven. As she entered her teens, Tebrianne and a group of her friends rebelled. A new era in Punk Rock had picked up in London, and Tebrianne dove in head first. They dyed their hair strange colors, dressed outrageously, got tattoos, and pierced their bodies in bizarre places. Tebrianne got her first tattoo on her fourteenth birthday. She pierced her tongue a month later, but it hurt so much that removed it and decided to just let it heal.

Tebrianne's band, the PunkBrats, began playing in clubs around London, and were soon touring England, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. They cut an album when Tebrianne was 14 and started selling like pastries at a Tellarite Bake Sale. Two years later, just a few months before Tebrianne's sixteenth birthday, Tebrianne was accepted into Starfleet Academy. Within three months of her announcement that she would be going to the Academy in the fall, the band had split up.

Growing up, Tebrianne's interests were many and varied. Her first love was music. She would spend most of her day either composing songs in her head, practicing her guitar, or trying to figure out how to play a new instrument. Teb had a gift with music. By the time she entered the Academy, in addition to the guitar, she had taught herself to play the piano, bass, drums, fiddle, flute, and mandolin. When she was thirteen, her brother taught her how to fly a plane. She loved flying second only to her music.

Tebrianne also found George Bancroft's collection of swords to be fascinating. She would wander through his library for hours at a time looking at all the different swords and knives. She learned to fence and took part in a number of swordfighting demonstrations before and during the time she was at the Academy. The year before she went to the Academy, Teb worked in a stunt show during the day, and toured clubs with her band by night. It was an exhausting summer, but very rewarding. She's studied Kung Fu and Aikido -- being a member of an all girl band, she thought it was a good idea.

As fall of '69 arrived, Tebrianne moved to the Academy and started classes. George and Victoria were proud of their adopted daughter. Teb took classes in helm operations and security procedures. Teb found it very difficult to overcome her shyness in the new setting, and spent most of her time on her own work or in her dorm writing music. Teb couldn't break out of her shell, and found it very difficult around the guys at the Academy. She had a huge crush on John Prescott, one of the other cadets, but could never get up the nerve to approach him. Throughout her four years at the Academy, Tebrianne went out on one date -- it turned out to be a disaster. She went out to a club with Drake Walkerson, one of the guys in her Flight Control 341 class. She spilled her dinner in her lap and knocked over the entire bottle of wine. Things went from bad to worse when they went back to Drake's dorm room and he expected more than Tebrianne was ready to give. She told him she wasn't ready to sleep with him, and he got upset and told her that if she dressed like a punked-out tramp, she should act like one. Teb left his room in tears.

After the date with Drake, Teb made the decision to work on her studies and forget about a social life other than her music. As graduation neared, Tebrianne finally made the very difficult decision of pursuing a career as a Helmsman rather than a Security Officer.

Tebrianne graduated from the Academy in the top five percent of her class, and was assigned as a Helm Officer aboard the USS Galaxy. She did exceptionally well, quickly earning a promotion to lieutenant junior grade. She was also requested to assume the Chief Helmsman posting while Lieutenant Commander Casey Ti Miran took her maternity leave of absence.

In early 2374, when Lieutenant Commander Casey Ti Miran resigned her commission to become a full time mother to her new born child, Tebrianne was again promoted and made Chief Helmsman on board the USS Galaxy.

During the mission to Dronegar, Teb developed a crush on Greer Erikson, a fellow officer aboard the Galaxy. She spent hours of time while not on duty hoping that something would happen between them. She was dealt a crushing blow when she happened across Greer Erikson and Ronni Morris kissing in one of the science labs.

With her self-esteem diminished to microscopic proportions, Tebrianne and Deiran Casey had a sordid affair that became the gossip of the ship for several days. The ship's rumor mill worked overtime to get the news of the illicit affair spread at warp speeds. Teb found it difficult to walk the ship's corridor's without someone pointing fingers. Eventually, the news of the affair died down and things returned to normal--as normal as they could be on the USS Galaxy.

During late 2374, Tebrianne started dating Galaxy tactical officer, Benedict T'Kal. For the first time in her life, Tebrianne truly felt happy and content. And, on top of the wonderful turn in her life, she was also promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander.

Thinking that the business of her affair with Deiran Casey was behind her, Teb continued to be tormented by her former lover. While at the Christmas party on the Galaxy, Deiran Casey called Tebrianne to the stage to help him dedicate a song to his wife. Teb wanted to crawl away and die.

When she first graduated from Starfleet Academy, Tebrianne had each of her pointed ears pierced seven times. She also had a silver stud in her nose. Sticking to the regulations, Tebrianne removed her jewelry while on duty. She had pierced her navel one night out of boredom, but let the piercing heal a short time later. When she found out that Benedict T'Kal had a pierced navel, she repierced her own. A short time later, she pierced her nose again. Eventually, the regulations took a back-seat to Teb's stylistic choices. She no longer worried about removing her jewelry before going on duty, though she still makes certain she is in uniform.

Tebrianne rarely wears her uniform while not on-duty. Her clothing usually matches her rebellious, punkish, wild nature.

She has several tattoos: a Celtic pattern circling her left ankle, a white rose on the back of her left hip, a yin-yang symbol on the back of her right shoulder, and pair of intertwining Pellek'n vines that circled her wrist several times and ended at a knot on the back of her hand.

With their relationship going so well (or seemingly so), Benedict asked Tebrianne to marry him and she accepted. The happiness was brief as Benedict's moods turned even blacker, and eventually confessed that he had had an affair with Cathy Page. Benedict broke off the engagement.

Shortly, after the break-up, Tebrianne and her Galaxy roommate, Julia "Jules" Reynolds, began seeing each other.

At the end of the war with the Dominion, Tebrianne was transferred from the Galaxy to the USS Windsor, and Intrepid-class starship patrolling the Beta Quadrant. On the Windsor's first mission, a shake-down cruise, they ran into a bit of trouble. An Away Mission on the planet's surface turned tragic when Tebrianne was taken captive by the terrorist Marco, and raped by him. To make matters worse, the terrorist taunted the Windsor crew by strapping an explosive device to Teb and returning her to the crew. The crew attempted to disarm the device, but despite their efforts it was triggered (theory is that Marco touched off the explosive with a remote device). Somehow Tebrianne managed to use her developing psionic abilities to throw security officer Vincent Roallo clear of the blast. Despite the lack of body, Tebrianne was declared dead.

Personality Profile

Tebrianne is a shy person by nature, despite the wild exterior she projects. When meeting new people, she tends to remain quiet and somewhat distant. She has a difficult time around guys, especially guys she happens to find appealing.

Teb is always willing to help someone in need. She has a deep compassion for other people, and is willing to offer her hand whenever needed.

Tebrianne's wild Romulan side is the dominant aspect of her personality -- reverting to her quiet, reserved Vulcan nature in unfamiliar situations.

Tebrianne is usually pretty bubbly and cheerful. She always has a good word for her friends. She speaks with a thick lower-class London dialect.

Physical Description Tebrianne is fairly petite. She is an attractive young woman with Vulcan and Romulan heritage. Her hair is naturally dark, but she usually dyes it a variety of wild colours. She prefers to dress in the wild styles made popular in the latter half of the twenty-second century, though she does prefer some of the Risan fashions from the early twenty-fourth. She has deep brown eyes that many have said hold some sort of magical power to capture the soul and hold it captive.
Special Notes

Tebrianne has a beautiful, strong alto singing voice that she keeps trained with various holodeck programs. She has no trouble switching between various styles of music, from the rawest punk to the softest ballad or the most demanding Opera to the poppiest showtune. Tebrianne is considered by many to be one of the most versatile and talented musicians in the Federation, perhaps even in the entire alpha quadrant.

Tebrianne is a very accomplished musician and has the ability to pick up an instrument and be able to figure out how to play it.
