| Background |
While her father, Kylom Jhenal was merely a low nobleman of the Betazed Aristocracy, her mother, Lenessa Morsha-Jhenal, was the true powerhouse of the family. The only reason the two ever married was because of their genetics, both the Morsha and Jhenal lineage is known for their telepathic excellence. Sadly though, the eldest two daughters, Kesani and Twana developed their telepathic abilities prematurely and were hospitalized because of it. Like all the Jhenal sisters, Resanna attended some of the finest institutes that Betazed had to offer. In 2364, when Resanna was 15, the entire family went on their monthly visitation to see Kesani and Twana. Kesani at the time was making great progress in dealing with her telepathic difficulties. Twana however, wasn't. She was having fits and even went so far as to mentally attack some of the wardens. With a telepathic inhibitor in place, Twana was safely secure from attacking people again. Though, Resanna felt guilty and saddened for her sister's difficulty and disabled the inhibitor to make her more comfortable. Twana openly assaulted her sister and caused a severe trauma on her metaconscious. After that, when Resanna's telepathic abilities started to mature, she would uncontrollably project her thoughts and emotions onto others. It became so difficult for her to control them, that she was sent to the Betazed III Rehabilitation Center to help her. For six months, Resanna learned though Vulcan Meditation Techniques to control her disability. While she will never be able to recover from her Projection Trauma, she does have control over it, much like that of a Vulcan with their emotions. Resanna returned to Betazed and continued her schooling. Though, she returned a shadow of her former self. Her family and close friends had taken a new look at the young woman they once knew. Now more reserved and cold, it felt to them as if a Vulcan had replaced their youngest. Instead of following in the footsteps of her eldest three sisters, Resanna took a much different path after graduating from the Academy of Uylin. Being admitted into the University of Betazed, Resanna took an advanced study course for the four years she was there. Upon her graduation, she requested to join Starfleet Academy. Lenessa and her other sisters were bewildered. Though, Kylom was encouraging and helpful for his youngest daughter. Through her supreme dedication and lack of a personal life, Resanna breezed through several of her classes (though, had difficulty with physical training and armed combat courses). With the aid of her psychology degree from the University of Betazed, Resanna did not need to attend the psychology courses at Starfleet Academy. She didn't make many friends, preferring to keep her distance from people. Though, Resanna met a very promising and forceful young Bolian by the name of Drexx. The two spent two years together, though, grew apart because of Resanna's cold-hearted nature. Resanna graduated and was given the choice of her first assignment. She chose a small space station as a counselor in the Tragalo Sector. After only a year of that tedious assignment, Ensign Jhenal requested a transfer to a Starship. Her request of transfer was denied at first, though through persistence, Resanna was given a position aboard the U.S.S. Ramses as Assistant Counselor in 2375 and a promotion with it. When the Ramses was attacked by a rogue Cardassian fighter shortly after her arrival, forty-seven of the crew was killed, including the Chief Counselor. In the time of mourning for the crew, Lieutenant Jhenal was given the position as Chief Counselor. For the next four years, things aboard the Ramses were also quiet. Resanna had another romantic encounter with the ship's first officer, Commander S'Vok. They were even considering marriage, since S'Vok was a widower. Though, Lenessa never gave her blessing to the marriage of impure Betazoid tradition, and Resanna requested a transfer. Hearing of the open position of Chief Counselor aboard the U.S.S. Sulu, Lieutenant Jhenal was quick to put in her application. |

| Personality Profile |
Resanna s love for her heritage and the history of her people still remains. In the times when she can let down her guard, which is a time of her solitude, Resanna often plays the Shyla Threads. The Threads are commented as being one of the most emotional musical instruments in all of Betazed culture. |

| Physical Description | Inheriting the natural beauty and grace of her mother, Resanna's rhythm and appeal match even that of an Orion Slave Girl. Though, if she wasn't properly breathing, one couldn't tell if she was alive or dead from the look in her eyes. The glassy, unemotional glare of Resanna can send chills through a child down to even the most courageous of men. |

| Special Notes | Still suffering from Projection Trauma, Resanna has a special Telepathic Inhibitor implanted in the apex of where her spinal cord and brain meet. So, if she has any uncontrollable projections, her abilities can easily be turned off by the switch of a button. |
