She's a likable young woman, and always willing to pitch in when something needs to be done. She's never turned down a request to put in some extra time in the lab or on the bridge. Most times when she isn't doing something else, she'll work anyway. She enjoys her work, and will sometimes have to be reminded to take some time off to recharge. Monica served for a brief time on Deep Space Nine after she graduated from the Academy. She enjoyed her time there, but she prefers a post on a Starship. She made friends easily, and was sad to go. She particularly enjoyed the occasional chat with DS9 science officer Thirishar ch'Thane. She enjoys her posting on the Sulu, being able to work when she wants, in addition to her normal shift. She also, to the shock of some, actually likes Lieutenant Xayella Tagliesh. She finds the lieutenant to be an able leader and amazing scientist. She may be somewhat abrasive at times, but she's never been upset with Monica so it hasn't really bothered her. Most of her crewmates have noticed an unusual quirk about Monica. She appears to have a fairly heavy addiction to caffeine. She is never seen without a very large mug filled with either raktajino or some other coffee-like substance should raktajino not be available. |

She makes friends easily, and very rarely gets upset. On the rare occasions when she does get upset, she usually gets through it fairly quick. |

Monica Gainsborough is a hard-working, enthusiastic, and passionate Starfleet officer. She joined Starfleet because she had a deep love for science and an urge to see what was out there. Additionally, her older brother and sister are both Starfleet officers. She is the youngest of three, and young by quite a bit. Her brother is fifteen years older, and her sister is twelve years older.
