The Award of Excellence is given to those simmers whose contributions to the stories of the USS Sulu sim exceed all expectations. They have been recognized by their peers as excellent writers and simmers, and have been honoured with this award. Their writing comprises everything found in the winners of the Excellent Post Award, and then goes beyond. These winners have been chosen from among those who have won the Excellent Post Award, and then voted upon by their peers.
