New Plouton, the Financial Hub

Many years before the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Empire, a delegation from Coruscant had visited Tae'Karada for the event of the High Prince's birthday. While passing through the city of New Plouton on their way to Arcadia, one of the delegation, a Senator from one of the Inner Rim planets, commented that New Plouton seemed to be Little Coruscant. In some circles, that name has stuck.

Stretching three hundred kilometers from east to west and nearly five hundred from south to north, it is the largest city upon the planet by a wide margin. The city itself has been divided into multiple districts, to make it easier to manage. Some have claimed that New Plouton could almost declare itself a separate nation.

While many services and features are repeated through each of the districts, each district seems to possess a character all its own. There are, however, several features that dominate the city.

While the planet features very few skyhooks, one in particular is visible from nearly anywhere in New Plouton. Soaring into the sky, the singular column is nearly a kilometer thick. Known commonly as the Umbilical, it connects the planet to the Drogen Shipyards in stationary orbit above. While the Shipyards are administered privately, both planetary and station officials deemed it most beneficial to have the connecting skyhook to make transport of supplies and personnel from station to surface and back without the need for orbital transports. The Hook itself is comprised of multiple lifts, including three industrial cargo lifts and two dozen personnel lifts.

The largest spaceport on the planet is also located within the Yelldon District of New Plouton. The starport can handle a large variety of spaceborne traffic, offering registered transport to a wide variety of destinations within the Tae'Remok and beyond.

The 12 Districts of New Plouton
The Yallder District The lowlifes and filth have gravitated here. The housing is cheap and no one ventures out at night without a blaster.	The Yesdol District One of New Plouton's twelve districts, it is where many of the business and wealthy residents of New Plouton make their homes.
Yesrin District Another of New Plouton's twelve districts. Located here is New Plouton's most famous landmark, The Segrelat Tower. The majority of Commerce City's corporate office buildings are found here.	Yelldon District One of dozens of districts found in New Plouton. This is where the starport is located, as well as many businesses revolving around industries related to space travel and interstellar commerce and trade. Karradas Industries, the organization running the starport, is located here.
Yemol District A large housing district. Most off-world employees of New Plouton businesses congregate in the various apartment complexes here. Moderate shopping for the home is available, but still the ideal shopping is found in Yellvin.	Yellvin District One of the New Plouton districts renowned for its shopping. It is said that if you seek anything, you can find a shop that sells it in Yellvin. While that isn't completely true, it is mostly true. Most legal goods can be found in Yellvin. For something more illicit, buyers would need to brave the streets of Yallder.
Yalyssar District The Yalyssar District was largely rebuilt by the New Republic, and acts as a Bureaucracy District for offworld dignitaries away from the official government center of Arcadia. Yuarteira District Yuarteira is a beautiful district of rest and relaxation. It is a tourism hotspot, full of hotels, spas, cafes, and specialty shops selling the best the galaxy and New Plouton has to offer.	Yandrosa District Yandrosa is the Alien District of New Plouton. Yandrosa is bordered by Yallder, Yemol, and Yellvin. It is a housing district like Yemol.
