Family: She lived with her grandparents on Corellia. Her parents are both dead. Her last remaining relative is her grandfather, Orinth Neerou. Began a new family with husband Liam Zaneth, where she gave birth to Va'Lesh Zaneth on Praeda 25, 4 ABY. Physical Description: Yelara is of medium build, and despite trying to regain her previous figure after giving birth to her first child, she is still very fit. She's kept her hair short for the past 14 years, and had beeny been letting it grow out upon meeting Liam, but after her death and rebirth, Yelara again switched to keeping it short as an attempt to distance herself from the memory of the former Yelara Zaneth. She has a large tattoo on her left arm and another one on her right hip that only a very privileged few have seen. During a trip to Corellia with Kallia, the two impetuously decided to acquire a tattoo each in honour of their time together. Each received the image of a loping Corellian saber cat, with Yelara's residing on her right breast. Following Yelara's resurrection, which involved grafting another's flesh onto the gaping stomach wound that had killed her, Liam's hasty departure from the Doctor's medical laboratory prevented proper healing of the scars. Although, after her actual awakening, bacta patches were applied to her flesh to promote mending, but even still faint scarring is visible, leaving Yelara a constant reminder of her death. Professional History: Yelara has been repairing mechanical devices since she was a child, but grew to enjoy repairing mainly ships. She can fly them as well, but she prefers to get down and dirty tinkering with and repairing them. She's invented many devices of her own design during her years experimenting with ship technology, and she recently acquired a job on the Chimaeria shipyards working as the main flight deck's mid-shift foreman. Her tenure there, however, was rather short and she remained unemployed following her escape from Dargus Kandran's hold. After her revival, Yelara struck out on her own and found employment at the Zacacea Blossom Café in the Yuarteira district as a waitress. Background: Yelara was born on Corellia and lived with her parents until she was 5. Her parents were killed by Imperial soldiers when she was nearly 6, over a disagreement. The soldiers wanted to raid her parent's house for weapons, seemingly mistaking her parents for weapons smugglers. When they refused to let the soldiers into their house, there was a struggle and the soldiers shot them dead. Yelara witnessed the whole ordeal and this was the fire that initially fueled her hatred of the empire. She was taken in by her grandparents who cared for her until she was 18. She spent some time tying to find a way to join the rebellion against the Empire and avenge her parents' death. Over a year ago, she heard about a shipyard in orbit around Chimaeria that was said to have connections to the Kandran syndicate and she thought this was a good opportunity to find some connections to the rebels, as well as do what she loved best: play around with big ships. She landed the job as foreman after an interesting meeting with the owner of the shipyards. She did chance upon a rebel sympathizer on her flight deck one day and was quickly recruited into the Alliance, supplying them with equipment and ship parts when needed. Unfortunately, during her stay on the shipyards, she also happened upon the infamous Dargus Kandran. She was ignorant as to who he was, as well as to his evil ways, but that knowledge came after her many encounters with him. Two very chance encounters, however, occurred on the shipyards as well, and these would forever change her. Her first was with a Jedi, Jae Dyn Brael, whom, after a rather tumultuous beginning, she fell deeply in love with. Their time together was short, but Yelara still shared a passion for the woman she came to know as Kallia, and pined her loss every day following her departure. But with the loss, she gained a lover in Kace Mordin, who would later become her husband, Liam Zaneth. He was the former Dark Jedi, turned grey, who swept into the shipyards one day, and who comforted her in her darkest hours, as well as taught her how wonderful life could be without Dargus Kandran. The two of them left Chimaeria behind, and were married on Akaphael on Saris 15, 3 ABY. Shortly thereafter, they discovered that Yelara was expecting a child, which brought them a mixture of happiness and dread. Yelara had been with both Dargus and Liam at the appropriate time in her cycle to conceive a child. This injected a sense of apprehension into what should have been an otherwise anticipatory event in their lives, but they still awaited the child's birth with expectant joy.
Upon return from their honeymoon on Turren, Liam and Yelara planned a coup against Dargus Kandran as an attempt to finally rid him from their lives. They returned to Tae'Karada for what they thought would be the last time to break off relations with Dargus, as well as to plant a tracking device onto his cloaked ship, thereby giving them a way to destroy Kandran when they had amassed enough resources. While preparing to strike against some of Dargus' operations, Liam and Yelara were encountered by Dame Oot Kovan, leader of the Tarabassic Syndicate. She approached them to gain help in overthrowing Kandran, at which time Yelara divulged to Oot the existence of the tracking device. With this knowledge and with her invaluable resources, Oot launched an attack on Dargus' vessel and destroyed it, along with Dargus. With Dargus finally out of their lives, Liam and Yelara attempted to move on and live the lives they'd hoped to share together since they first fell in love. They set up a home within their ship, the Kestrel, and lived there until they were contacted by their friend, Oot Kovan. She requested that they build a surveillance device to use against one of her rivals, Zale Tregat. Yelara and Liam accepted as repayment for the help Oot had given them in the past. In order to carry out their mission, she and Liam were forced to return to Tae'Karada and set up operations there. Shortly after they arrived on the planet, destiny intervened in her life again and returned to her her first love, Kallia Brael. She showed up on the doorstep of the apartment she and Liam shared, carrying a large, brown-eyed bundle of joy in her arms. Yelara, without hesitation, accepted Kallia back into her life, and despite a little reluctance on Liam's part at first, she was also welcomed into their bed.Even more changes occurred before Liam, Kallia, and Yelara had a chance to get settled into their new life. The Force had led Liam to a hidden Temple in the forests of New Plouton. After taking on a couple of Padawans, it was decided that they would all three - along with baby Yara - make their home in the Temple. Shortly after moving there, Yelara went into labour and finally answered the question plaguing her and Liam for months: Whose child was she really carrying? On Praeda 25, blue-eyed, red-haired Va'Lesh Zaneth was born and brought more joy to their lives than they'd expected. The child was clearly Liam's and had finally freed them from Dargus Kandran's hold forever. That was, until Dargus returned. At a party thrown by another crime lord, Weibran the Hutt, Liam encountered Dargus, wearing a face not his own, and the two fought a vicious duel. Dargus managed to escape, but not without leaving bloodshed and horror in his wake. Yelara only discovered this days later, when Liam finally gathered the nerve to tell her. Her reaction was a mixture of fear, confusion, and desperation. She pleaded with Liam to take them away from Tae'Karada, to take them anywhere Dargus was not. Liam vowed he would cut down Kandran, but that it meant he could not flee with her and their child. Yelara grudgingly agreed, and with her lover, Jae Dyn Brael and her child, Yelara and Leshie departed on the Kestrel for Corellia, where they would await Liam's arrival. While there, they were tracked down and abducted by Dargus, and held hostage on his cruiser. Yelara resisted him initially, still thinking him the disgusting, vile creature who had mistreated and manipulated her for so long. But that all changed when, one evening, Jae Dyn confessed that Liam had been unfaithful, with a woman he had sworn meant nothing to him: Laedra Vorrel, a fellow Jedi at the Temple. Yelara was furious and overcome with grief. She struck a bargain with Dargus, the one man she knew could repay Liam for his infidelity, and together they sought to destroy Liam Zaneth. While Liam searched for his wife and child, Yelara entered into marrigae with Dargus and offered to carry his child. Dargus succeeded in conceiving an heir with Yelara, and together they aspired to rule Tae'Karada as Emperor and Empress. All was well until they made a trip to Corellia, where Liam came back into Yelara's life. One look at her husband, a helpless prisoner of Dargus, and her desire for revenge melted away. She still loved Liam, and couldn't bear to see him suffering at the hands of Dargus Kandran, so upon their return to the cruiser, Yelara began setting into motion a plan to free them both from Dargus' clutches. Their plan, however, failed. Dargus had anticipated Yelara's betrayal, and was waiting to apprehend them both before they could escape. Both were punished, and Yelara was forced to play pleasure slave to Dargus' men, and worst of all, a clone of her own child. Dargus hadn't anticipated, however, Yelara befriending the young man she affectionately named 'Va'Lesh,' after her true son. With his help, and that of Va'Lesh's friend, a clone of Kallia's child, Yara, Yelara managed to arrange the freedom of her child while the "family" visited the planet one day. With Yara and Leshie safely at the Temple, Yelara was able to free Liam from his prison and have Va'Lesh arrange for a ship to smuggle them from the cruiser. However, Dargus again was ready and waiting for them. After seizing the royal palace in Arcadia, Dargus took both Liam and Yelara to the planet - Liam to witness while Yelara and Dargus were coronated Emperor and Empress of Tae'Karada against her will. But the celebration would not last long. With Va'Lesh's help, Yelara managed to free Liam from Dargus' clutches again, and this time, there was a duel to the death. Liam, equipped with his lightsaber, and Dargus with his, fought a bitter struggle with the Dark Jedi. Yelara watched helplessly as Liam was forced back towards a ledge that led to a drop no man or Jedi could survive. She did the only thing she could do: Yelara threw herself at Dargus to give Liam an opportunity to escape certain death. But Dargus, in a bloodlust, turned his lightsaber on Yelara and impaled her with it. As she lay dying on the audience chamber floor, Liam dispatched Dargus with renewed fervour and determination. While he plummeted down the cliff over the balcony, Liam cradled Yelara in his arms until she died on Selene 1, 4 ABY. She was placed in a stasis chamber by her husband to preserve his beloved, and she remained there for some months as Liam searched the galaxy for the one man who might restore his wife's existence. Along with his child, Shaza Nightshade, and two of Dargus' clones - Yara and Va'Lesh - they sought out the infamous Doctor, the one who held the key to immortality. Discovering him on Tatooine, Liam secured the doctor's assistance, and although the procedure was a failure at the time, upon the group's return to Tae'Karada, the once dead Yelara Zaneth somehow revived. Although it was a miraculous time, and Liam Zaneth believed his wife finally returned to him, Yelara held no memory of her past, or her husband. Over time, and attempts to rediscover who she was, Yelara Zaneth, now Neerou, decided to distance herself from all those she had once known, save her son, Va'Lesh. Even though they are technically still married, Liam and Yelara are now estranged from one another. She has set out to begin a new life on her own, with her child, and redefine herself without the shadow of Yelara Zaneth falling upon her. Her goal now is to find some semblance of happiness, and to simply live.
Personality: Before her death, Yelara was good humoured around her husband, but was often wary of strangers. She was tough when she needed to be and less than refined, especially in her table etiquette, but she was still effeminate in many ways. All that changed when her child was born, and Yelara's feminine motherly instincts kicked in. Still headstrong, stubborn, and sometimes indelicate, she became more refined and mature. After her death and her subsequent revivification, Yelara's entire personality changed once again. More subdued and difficult to inspire joy in, she dwelled on her lost past until she could nothing but drive away all those with any link to it. Having now abandoned who she was, Yelara has felt a weight lifted from her, and although not entirely happy, she is content with pursuing her new life. Form of Dress: In her more wild days, Yelara felt comfortable wearing as little as possible. Now, she is more conservative in her attire, only reflecting her newfound maturity and the hardships she's endured.Superhuman Powers and Abilities: None whatsoever, but she has an especially strong bond with her child, and although she attempts to suppress it, she feels a lingering connection to Liam and Kallia as well, which is likely a consequence of their Force abilities. Abilities and Skills: Although she has yet to rediscover that aspect of herself, Yelara is good at figuring out what makes things tick and once enjoyed inventing things. She was once trained by her husband in hand-to-hand combat, and introduced her to the pike, which she became adept at using. Perhaps one day her instinctual abilities will reassert themselves, but for now, Yelara is intent on being simply a normal, unexceptional single mother. |
