But during his visit to Firalag he was captured by the local rebels and told him the truth behind the death of his parents. He joined the rebels to free his planet from Imperial rule. There he met the Edea tribal. After the destruction of Firalag, he continued to serve the rebellion. His last fight was during the Battle of Endor. Now he is an independent contractor as a retrieval expert.
Background: Tidus was born in a noble family in Corulag, but since his father was given the title to rule over Firalag, he and his mother moved there as well. During the years that Tidus grew up, Firalag was also growing economically into becoming one of the centers of commerce in the Inner Rim. So, Tidus was a spoiled brat because whatever he wanted, his father got it for him. Also, it was during this time that Tidus' parents adopted a twi'lek baby and to Tidus she was just like his sister. When he was fifteen years old he was sent to the Imperial Academy so Tidus could become a man. His father thought it would be good for Tidus to learn on his own how life can be hard. At the very first day he confronted his instructor, so the instructor dealt with him accordingly. Tidus spent some time in jail, treated like a war prisoner. That was a hard lesson for him because he suffered much. He was not used to such strictness, but rather to have people do whatever he wished them to do. Now he had to do things for himself. When he was 17 years old, he was already a man since his instructors pushed him to his limits and made him one of the best of his class. But news arrived from Firalag stating that they had joined the Empire. But that wasn't true at all, as his father and mother were executed in the public square. Of course, Tidus knew nothing and so he continued to serve the Empire. He graduated top of his class and he was proud with himself to be serving the Empire. When he was offered a job in the Empire Intelligence, he met Shiva Crescent. They became friends and much more, spending time working together and learning about the rebellion and its agenda. Days after he received the news of his parents' death as part of an accident when their ship fell, due to a malfunction. Little did he know that that was far from the truth. He found out that his sister (the Twi'lek) had joined the Rebel Alliance and was working with the rebels in Firalag.
He requested transfer has quickly has possible to Firalag. The transfer was accepted and once there he saw that the planet he had grown up in had entered the darkness of a civil war. Tidus was welcomed by a local Governor who told him that the rebels were responsible for the death of his parents and the bad state of the planet. Tidus joined the governor into defeating the rebels to revenge his parents' death. During a reconnaissance mission Tidus was captured and was brought to the rebels' headquarters. There he was questioned about the number of troopers on the Imperial side and how many ships they had, but Tidus refused to cooperate with them. One of the leaders ordered the guards to take his blindfold off and when Tidus looked at who was questioning him he saw it was his uncle. At first, Tidus didn't believe a single word that his uncle told him. He thought his uncle had sold his soul to betray the family. His uncle told him that the one who was betraying the family was Tidus, since his parents were killed and he still continued to serve the Empire. It was only then that Tidus' uncle learned that Tidus didn't know how his parents had been killed. When Tidus saw the footage of the execution of his father, and thus learned that the Empire lied to him, he had a rage of anger and had to be sedated to calm down. He joined the rebels and it was before his first battle against the Empire that he made a promise that he would have vengeance on all the people who lied to him, especially the ones responsible for the death of his parents. During the third battle, he saw a familiar face: it was Shiva. His love for her was now transformed into hate for all those on the Empire's side. She didn't want to fight him, but since in his eyes she didn't see anything else but anger and hate, he attacked her without hesitation. Shiva was left for dead and it was then he realized what he had done. How could hate and anger take him to a point where he almost killed someone he had once loved? He let her go, but what he had done to Shiva was unforgivable and it was from the day that their friendship and love died.
It was with a girl called Edea Tribal that he found a place in his heart to love again and from that relationship was born Marek Highwind, so both decided to get engaged. Tidus left the planet to a meeting with the Alliance Rebels to plan an attack to free Firalag, when came the news that his fiancée and son had disappeared. Tidus had to stay because he was essential to the preparation of the attack. But what would be the effects if a 15 kilometer ship hitting a planet? Firalag was the living proof of such an incident, since an SSD that was orbiting the planet was attacked by the Rebels, propelling accidentally the vast SSD into the planet's orbit. When the rebels saw the SSD going towards Firalag's atmosphere they tried with their tractor beams to pull the SSD out of the way of Firalag, but the rebel's ships had damage of their own and the SSD was too heavy for the ships. Tidus was forced to watch hopelessly his world being destroyed. The SSD created a blast crater with quite a few kilometers of depth and a blast radius of a few hundred kilometers across. Plus, the explosion created a very severe chain reaction of fire and pollution on the Firalag atmosphere, killing all species on the planet. His friends, fiancée and son were gone, but part of him believed that his son and fiancée are somewhere else, alive.
He continued to serve the Rebellion to a point where he thought it was time to move on, but before he left he participated on the battle of Endor, where the rebels destroyed the second Death Star. After that he became an independent contractor as a Retriever Specialist, since he thought he had seen enough killings. Now, he can be hired by anyone who wants to retrieve anything in particular, including people. Tidus is not a bounty hunter because he brings people alive and in perfect health, if possible.
