Physical Description:
Rashid has a crest of short black hair and he shaves the sides of his head. A thin goatee is his only vanity and he keeps it well trimmed. He is extremely well muscled due to an extensive training regimen that is also entirely mental. The Tuareg look almost entirely human except for a pair of razor sharp incisors that often jut down out of their mouth. They are also naturally extremely fast and can withstand temperature ranging from the freezing winds of Hoth to the baking suns of Tatooine without a seeming effect, this has left their dark chocolate skin an almost marble-like sheen to it.

Professional History:
Rashid was a simple hunter when he lived with his people. These skills later helped him along after a covert military group from the Old Republic and "selected" him for special training. No one is sure exactly how long Rashid has lived as he can recall events that happened hundreds of years in the past. Since the fall of the Old Republic, Rashid has gone freelance, seeing his roll as an assassin in the galaxy an almost holy calling. He is known by his moniker the "Desert Shadow", a name given to him long ago by his teachers. It is rumored that the only ones who learn the true name of the Desert Shadow are his targets. None are said to have escaped.

Background:
The Tuareg people have been nomads for as long as the galaxy's history can go back. A home planet has never been established for them, but a tribe can be found on almost every desert planet. In truth, the home planet of the Tuareg is beyond the Outer Rim, and very few have ever known about it. They are a deeply religious people, believing the night to be holy and the day an evil thing brought to them by a god whose name and long been forgotten. The natural environment of their planet is extremely harsh, and predators stalk even during the day. This has led to Tuareg to be natural stealthy, able to hide in even a tiny fold in the land at a moments notice.

Most who do know of them call them "Night Dwellers" and believe them to be a timid people, afraid of their own shadows. They call them technophobes at the way they disdain even the most rudimentary of technology. In truth, however, the Tuareg have developed certain technologies far more advanced than what most have today, they simply prefer to keep it to themselves and would rather see it destroyed than in the hands of anyone else. Rumors also abound about certain large animals the Tuareg keep, but nobody has actually been able to capture one to study it.

Common practices of the Tuareg include a ritual known as "Greeting the Night". It is often performed only by their priests, but individuals members of the Tuareg who have been separated from their people will do it as often as t hey can, and only in the desert.

Personality:
To others Rashid is a man surrounded by mystery and mysticism. He is often philosophical and religious and speaks with a soft but form voice. He can seem cold and aloof to those he does not care for, but to those whose trust he has gained they will find him an insightful councilor. He is firmly honest in his word and will always accomplish the task set before him in any way possible. Once his price has been met, he will remain fiercely loyal to that individual until the day the contract is finished. Only one man has ever tried to double-cross the Desert Shadow, he and his entire family vanished without a trace.

Form of Dress:
Rashid normally dresses in the traditional clothes of his people. A black headwrap called a burkha with thin white cotton clothing. Sometimes when he wants to be alone he will dress in loose clothing the color of the desert sands with a brown an red burkha. For work Rashid has a special stealthsuit developed by the Old Republic for covert ops. It is made of a skintight blaster resistant material that is specially insulated to prevent any body heat at all from escaping. The microfibers can also change color with a certain series of electronic pulses. This allows the wearer to go from an urban camouflage to forest at will. The entire system, along with a sophisticated electronics suite, is controlled from a small backpack wrapped in a tough blaster-proof shell.

Rashid disdains blasters and prefers bladed weapons. He almost always has any number of small thrown weapons on him at any time.

Superhuman Powers and Abilities
Tuareg are naturally resistant to extreme temperatures from biting cold to sweltering heat. Their razor sharp incisors can be used to bite with, and can indeed pierce many type of armor, but this is considered distasteful to them. Tuareg are also much quicker than humans, possessing an agility and dexterity that can almost make them seem feline in combat. Rashid is of a certain family of Tuareg though, an almost subspecies, known as Mulhadrani. They carry within them a genetic anomaly that gives them the ability to change their shape into a catlike monstrosity. The change is extremely painful, and can often happen during times of great duress, but with training the trait can be called upon at will. Afterwards, the Mulhadrani are left weak and unable to care for themselves, so it usually remains as a last ditch effort.
