Physical Description Nieme is of slim build and medium height. Her hair is cut short, which was a necessity for one living in the harsh, warm climate of Thanatos, but not has become her preferred style. Her complexion is naturally fair, but has been bleached a light golden brown by the desert sun. Her eyes are a deep brown, but soft, making her gaze looking always imploring and rueful, while hiding the true deviousness within. Distinctive Features Piercings in her ears; a silver ring in her left eyebrow; a loop in her navel; a ring adorning her genitals; a desert porja flower tattoo on her inner thigh; a stylized star tattoo outlining her navel; a rylothian t'laka cat tattoo on her lower back Professional History: Nieme has been doing odd jobs around Thanatos since she was 8 years old, from selling fruit to scrubbing floors in the local tavern. She eventually worked her way up from floor-scrubber, to head chef at The Rhack in Thanatos and worked in that position since she was 18 years old, until she relocated to New Plouton to train as a Jedi. After leaving the Temple with her lover, Dani, she again settled in New Plouton, where she continues to wreak havoc with Dani. Now, she shares the throne of Tae'Karada with her lover. Background Being born on Thanatos, Nieme learned early on about struggle and heartache, but that knowledge came first hand to her when she was abandoned by her parents at the age of 8 years old. Since then, she's been living on her own in the harsh, crude desert of Thanatos, but has managed to survive for now. During her first year on the street, she got by unscathed by seeking shelter with a kindly old woman who had seen her on the streets one day and decided to take pity on her. Nieme wasn't the only child wandering alone on the streets, but the old woman said she saw something special in her and thought it a shame to have her corrupted by all the darkness around her. The woman, Fytha, sheltered and raised Nieme until she fell ill and died when Nieme was 13 years old. She left Nieme her home and what little money she had saved up; Nieme has and will never forget the kindness Fytha bestowed upon her and considers her, even to this day, the only mother she's ever had. Once on her own, Nieme realized she would need to do more than sell fruit for piddly wages if she was to survive on her own, so she applied for a job in the local tavern and acquired a starting position as floor-scrubber. The wages weren't very good and the hours were long, but it kept her off the streets and away from the thieves and murderers, as well as the men who liked young girls far more than they should. She eventually worked her way up to waitress, then eventually chef when she realized she had quite the talent for concocting new and delectable dishes. The pay still wasn't a fortune, but it was enough for her to live comfortably. For a time, she lived a simple life and owned a meagre amount of belongings, but she's found that too many material objects only make people greedy and selfish. She's content with what she has and keeping herself from lusting after money has eliminated any distractions such pursuit brings; as well, it allowed her to maintain her innocence and naivité which, in Thanatos, only ever ended up getting people killed. Nieme, however, avoided that fate by keeping to herself and ceasing to exist to the outside world. She simply drifted through the streets, unseen and unheard with her body cloaked and her eyes lowered to the ground. She did nothing to draw attention to herself and spoke only when spoken to. She still prefers to remain completely invisible, and learned that from wandering the streets of Thanatos where it was better to be unnoticed than to catch the eye of one of the street gangs looking to have some fun with a shy, young girl. Despite the darkness and evil that surrounded her, she managed to retain her optimism about the future. She aspired to eventually leave Thanatos and relocate to New Plouton, which she did recently. Since she was a child, Nieme often has had strange, vivid dreams, ones that follow her into her waking hours. She often sees strange faces and voices in her dreams, ones that are somehow familiar but foreign at the same time. The dreams become more unsettling when she encounters one of the faces from her visions on the streets. She doesn't know why those people are in her dreams and deems it unwise to pursue the matter with them. Along with the dreams, the world around her seems alive with energy and she often feels a keen awareness of her surroundings. Sounds, smells, everything abstract seems magnified and almost tangible as if she were experiencing their very essence. It all frightened her at first, but after a time, she became accustomed to it all. It makes her feel more alive, in fact; the energy exuded by even a pebble lying on the ground seems to elevate her to a heightened plane and brings a moment of release from the harsh world in which she lived. All this led her to Liam Zaneth and Jae Dyn Brael, as well as her husband, Kael Selrid. One night, she had a dream of the Temple, where Kael, Liam, and Jae Dyn were awaiting her. She knew, then, that it was her destiny to join them there, but she couldn't do so until she had saved Kael from the darkness consuming him. As the leader of the Feltreys, he was forced to secure his position of leader through acts of violence, acts he felt were part of the key to freeing Thanatos from its oppressors. He and Nieme had an important encounter one evening, and after that, they became friends while she helped him see the error of his ways. Shortly after, Liam and Jae Dyn arrived in Thanatos, where Nieme met Liam and he convinced her to join him at the Jedi Temple he had discovered. Nieme accepted, as she felt was her destiny to because of her dream, and upon convincing Kael to leave with her, together, they began their new lives in New Plouton. While there, Nieme and Kael's love blossomed and he quickly proposed marriage. Being naive and inexperienced with relationships, Nieme accepted and soon became Nieme Yaresh-Selrid. The happy occasion was short-lived, for Nieme was sent with Liam to rescue a girl Nieme observed in a dream one night. Nieme felt the purple nymph was in danger and Liam agreed to take her to the Drogen Shipyards to retrieve her. That is where Nieme met Dani, her new friend, and also a new threat in Kael's mind. Unhappy with Dani's attentions towards Nieme, Kael unleashed his aggressions during a training session and hurt Dani as a warning to keep away from Nieme. Nieme, however, refused to let Kael keep her from being with her new friend. A threat to end their new marriage was all it took to shed Kael's hatred of Dani and for a time, the three of them live amicably in the Temple. Happiness only lasted a short while for the trio, for Kael's jealousy soon made him determined to hurt Dani at every possible opportunity. Kael's last chance expired after he forced Nieme to make love on Dani's bed...as she lay asleep beside them. As Dani awakened and watched them. Nieme knew she could no longer tolerate her husband causing so much pain to her friend. After a very heated argument, Nieme verbally ended their marriage, and without anyone knowing, she and Dani fled to Thanatos. They found comfort and joy with each other, and in the blossoming love they held for one another, but their time of contentment ended far too soon after. Dani and Nieme were abducted by Kael's former gang members, and forced to serve as Ferrig and Raeila's pleasure slaves. They drugged them heavily into submission and made them perform degrading acts of sexual gratification, beating them and drugging them further if they refused to obey. After almost a week of this, Dani and Nieme were rescued by the Jedi and taken back to the Temple to recover. Nieme, however, had retreated into the safety of her mind and became unresponsive to any outside stimulus. As a last resort, Jae Dyn Brael, with the aid of Kael, Liam, Laedra, and Koran, used a Jedi technique to link with Nieme's mind so Jae Dyn could coax her back to consciousness. Nieme's subconscious fought against Jae Dyn's intrusion, and almost succeeding in pushing her back, but Jae Dyn prevailed in the end, and Nieme returned to reality. As a consequence of the technique used, certain knowledge and attributes Jae Dyn bore were bestowed upon Nieme as well. She was imbued with a newfound confidence, as well as the ability to control her formerly violent visions. It helped her advance in her training as a Jedi, and also gave her the courage to finally end her stormy relationship with Kael. As repentent as he was, Nieme knew they could no longer be together, so after an amicable separation, their marriage was dissolved by them, and Nieme then chose to pursue a relationship with Dani. The two lived carefree and joyously since that day, and their love grew more than any could have imagined. They were training to become diplomats for the Jedi Order, and devoted any time they had that was not occupied by training to swim at their waterfall, cause mischief around the Temple, and to pester Orn relentlessly. All that began changing when Raeila came to live at the Temple. Saved from a suicide attempt, Raeila was convinced by Kael to remain in New Plouton with him, which she did. Nieme and Kael, soon after, rekindled their relationship secretly, but Kael's marriage to Raeila only increased Nieme's hatred of her. Before she could carry out with the dark deeds she had planned for Raeila, Nieme and Dani fled from the Temple, believing the Jedi Masters were attempting to forbid them to love one another. From there, they plummeted to the dark side and engaged in unbridled sex, revelling, and the abduction of Merrick Braston and Zale Tregat, who they exploited as sex slaves. During this time, they infiltrated the Temple at night to repay Ferrig Mullerin for crimes against them. It was at this time they abducted Talara Sorenne, a young Padawan at the Temple and the woman Ferrig loved. They lured her into the dark side and stole the child's innocence. She remains in their keeping even today, to help Nieme and Dani fulfill their dreams of taking over all of Tae'Karada. That day came when Nieme and Dani invaded the Temple and apprehended Tae'Karada's regent, Oot Kovan. Using her as leverage, the two girls were unopposed in their seizure of Tae'Karada's throne. After banishing the Twi'lek from the palace, Nieme and Dani began their twisted rule of the planet, and even after an attempt by the Jedi to stop them, the two girls remain the sole empresses of Tae'Karada. Personality: Nieme was once very soft-spoken and quiet, and a girl who was kind and gentle. She had been far too naive for her own good, but through her experiences, she's become far too knowledgeable and her innocence lost. Nieme still likes to observe people and the world around her, as well as study body language and how people act, their quirks, their gestures... but only in that it allows her to exploit them. She has a keen street sense, which came in handy when trying to elude the local thieves and rapists in Thanatos. Now, she is entirely devious and wicked, seeking contentment through the suffering of others and complete depravity. She is a follower of the dark side of the Force, and through it aspires towards planetary domination. Form of Dress: Nieme's clothing used to be plain and drab, which was a necessity when wandering through the scorching heat of the Thanatos desert. She also shrouded herself in a hooded cloak to protect herself from the sun, but seeing as it is no longer necessary in New Plouton, Nieme wears attire more reflective of her darkness. They consist of black outfits that are close-fitting and provocative. Her favourite is leather, mainly because it's Dani's favourite as well. Superhuman Powers and Abilities She has an ability to open her mind to the world around her and feel the energy permeating from people and objects. She is very sensitive to the emotions of others and, as well, she has visions and foreboding dreams, many of which have come to fruition. Tapping into the dark side has heightened all her abilities, and made her far more experienced in the way of the Force than she could ever have hoped to be as a Padawan of the light side. Abilities and Skills: Nieme has always been a talented chef and now adds vindictive, evil sex fiend to her resumé. In the future, she hopes to call herself an indomitable ruler as well. |
