Moril Astren has worked for Antorial Industries for five years, and there is no one in the company who would disagree with the statement that if it weren't for Moril's influence, the whole thing would have blown up like a munitions depot hit by a stray blaster shot. He has proven many times in the course of his employment to be a valuable asset to Antorial owner Zale Tregat, though more importantly he has become the solitary crimelord's friend.

Moril grew up on Gethsenril, one of the moons in the outlying system of Trosvene. As he describes it, there is nothing exciting or anything about Trosvene except the blaster production center on the fourth moon of Trosvene. And, the only reason it's exciting is there's an accident roughly every sixth month, and all a person has to do is look up into the night sky to see it burning for six weeks. The Regvel Arms fiascoes aside, he still couldn't stand the planet and had to leave as soon as he was old enough. So, on his seventeenth birthday, three months after his parents were killed in another explosion at the Regvel planet, he got onto a transport and never looked back.

Moril met Zale Tregat purely by chance. He had been out on his own for nearly five years, but had been unable to find a solid, steady job. He had stopped into a bar after being fired from a job he'd had for only a month working on a freighter. His mood was dark, and he'd had too much to drink. Next to him at the bar was a foul-tempered Rodian who was missing an eye, and had had part of his snout sliced off.The alien was talking loudly, far too loudly to the bartender, and Moril asked him to shut his mutilated mouth before it was shut permanently. It was a bad thing to say. The Rodian attacked immediately, shouting angry curses. If the Rodian was just going to yell at him, Moril would have been fine. However, the vibroblade in the creature's hand was more than he'd bargained for. The Rodian's hand flicked outward, flashing and slashing, sending Moril crashing back and to the floor. Blood was everywhere, and his face burned with pain.

When Moril finally woke, Zale was with him. It turned out that he'd been next to Moril at the bar, and had been the one to push Moril out of the way before the Rodian could drive the vibroblade into a more vital spot. Zale wasted no time utilizing the collapsible pike hidden in his large coat to dispatch the Rodian, and then helped Moril to the hospital. They continued talking, and after several hours, and many pain killers later, Zale asked Moril to work for him. And, Moril hasn't looked back since.
