Professional History:
Koran was raised from infancy by the Jedi Order. He never knew his family since he was taken from them so young in order to become a Jedi. He grew up within the Jedi Temple, and learned the teachings well. He was considered a good Padawan, though he had an unruly streak in him that his mentor struggled to keep under control. Before he passed his trials and was named a Jedi Knight, he had managed to quash the unruliness and made a fine Jedi. He served the Jedi faithfully and without hesitation for many years, before the Council offered him a position among their number. He accepted the offer, and bade them that he would take his place on the council after he completed one final mission. It was from that mission that Koran Darr never returned, and most assumed him dead.

Background
Born to an affluent family in the Tagheza'Sa system, Koran Darr never had a chance to know his parents or siblings. Before his first birthday, he was discovered by Jedi Master Orianna Ti'Kro. After a day of long discussion, Koran was aboard a transport and headed off toward Coruscant.

As the years passed, Koran's strength in the Force grew, as did his skill. He was a good Padawan, though he did experience streaks of mischievousness. Master Ti'Kro was pleased with his progress however, and she worked to teach him the discipline required of a Jedi Knight. Over time, his mischief diminished, but he was still always quick with a smile or light comment toease tension.

Shortly after his twenty-fifth birthday, Koran was knighted. His still-growing skill with the Force was impressive, and the Jedi Council made use of his talents in various trouble spots around the Galaxy. As he was sent around the Galaxy, his piloting skills also increased.

During his thirty-eighth year, the Jedi Council deemed that Koran had indeed mastered the skills of a Jedi, and raised him to the level of Jedi Master. During the time of his growth from Knight to Master, he'd had a hand in teaching over seventeen different Padawans. Upon achieving his new rank, he took another student, a youth he found on Corellia. His new Padawan, Ari San Rial, was a fast student and picked things up quickly. Koran looked forward to the time when the boy would be old enough to begin the more rigourous ordeals of becoming a Jedi.

He had begun investigating complaints into the practices of the Trade Federation, and spent much of his time travelling on that business. He had gathered enough evidence to link the Trade Federation back to a powerful member of the Senate, but did not yet have enough evidence to present it tothe Council.

As he prepared to leave once more to find the final pieces of information that would reveal the Trade Federation's insidious ally, Masters Yoda and Windu approached Koran. They offered him a place on the Jedi Council. He gratefully accepted, but told them he had one last piece of a puzzle to find before he joined them in the Council Chambers.

What Koran discovered in his search chilled him to the bone. The Sith. He had to return and tell the Council. On the way out, however, he ran into a team of nikto who had been hired by the Trade Federation to keep intruders out. They wasted no time in attacking Koran. He fought back, quickly reducing their number. One of them managed to stun the Jedi, but they knew he wouldn't stay out of action for long. There was a carbon freezing unit in the warehouse, and they made the decision to try to get the Jedi into the machine where they could incapacitate him. Two of them rushed him and managed to knock him back into a large, gaping pit. The third threw a switch, and the pit was suddenly filled with molten carbonite.

The nikto fled and left Koran in the carbon freezing pit, until he was found by the workers of the warehouse. The warehouse happened to be owned by one of the crimelords operating on the planet. Tomari Ishaida was a middling crimelord, but when the workers showed him what they'd found, he was very pleased. He took it to his home where he hung it on the wall of his office as a trophy. And, for over thirty years, that's where Koran Darr remained.

One night, two thieves stole into Ishaida's home with the intent to steal all they could get their hands on. One of them started playing around with the controls on the carbonite block, releasing Koran from his prison. Both stood, horrfied, as they watched the carbonite disgorge the body of the Jedi Knight.

And so it was, that Koran Darr, Jedi Master of the Old Republic, was brought into the time of the New Republic and the rebirth of the Jedi Order.
