Kel'Ishans are such long lived creatures that no one has died from old age in their entire history, but like all things good there comes a price and this is a heavy one: Kel'Ishans have very few children and many die before being born.

Kel'Ishans have a unique bone structure and an inner rib cage encasing their heart with an outer rib cage protecting lungs and other vital organs. They also have multiple regenerative systems; they heal rapidly from wounds that would kill other species. This is why they never age as their cells continually divide and multiply.
